 Etihad Rail, the developer and operator of the national railway network in the UAE, announced the completion of the connection of the Abu Dhabi Industrial City "ICAD" railway freight station - the largest railway freight station in the country - to the UAE national railway network. The connection process was completed by constructing train bridges that intersect with the Ghuwaifat International Road, installing railway tracks, and successfully conducting tests of the new track.


This achievement comes in line with the objectives of the "National Railways Program", the largest land transport system of its kind at the level of the emirates, which aims to connect the various cities of the country via railways and accelerate comprehensive development.

Upon completion and commissioning of the second phase of the Etihad Rail project, the freight trains will provide logistical support services from the ICAD freight rail station in the heart of Abu Dhabi Industrial City, which is a major hub for industrial companies in the region.
