The capital of Loiret is on the rise.

As Actu Loiret explains on Wednesday, attendance at Orléans this summer has reached a record level.

It is up 10% in metropolitan France compared to last year.

French tourists were there with a 13% increase compared to 2019, the last year before the Covid-19 crisis.

“Foreign attendance was multiplied by 2 compared to 2019 and increased by 66% compared to last summer”, also specifies the metropolis in a press release.

75,000 visitors to the cathedral

Thus, nearly 40,000 people visited the Orléans Métropole Tourist Office in July and August.

Ticket sales for various activities and venues increased by 296%, those of souvenir shop products by 120%.

The CityPasses, which offer privileged access to more than 100 tourist offers, show +21%.

Attendance on the "Loire à Vélo", a route along the Loire for cycle tourists, is up 19% compared to summer 2021. The cathedral, with the "sounds and lights" show, has welcomed approximately 75,000 visitors (+ 42%).
