have made our lives easier but, with the dizzying rise in energy prices, the temptation to disconnect some of them to reduce the cost of electricity bills is great.

In the first eight months of the year, an average family has spent

around 776 euros

just on electricity bills.

But... What are the electrical appliances that citizens would never give up?

Facile.it, with the help of mUp Research and Norstat, has asked a representative sample of the Italian population and has calculated how much each of the main home appliances weighs on the energy bill.

For this, it has taken into account the consumption indicated on the energy labels of the devices and the price of energy applied in 2022

The washing machine: 91 euros per year

The washing machine is the most valued

appliance

And it is that the idea of ​​washing clothes by hand again may scare many, for this reason, 62.7% of those surveyed say that they could not do without it.

From the point of view of consumption, a washing machine with energy rating A purchased in 2020 has an annual cost in the electricity bill of 91 euros.

The fridge amounts to 142 euros per year

In second place, slightly surpassed, is the refrigerator.

61.7% of those surveyed say they could not live without it.

From the point of view of energy consumption, this is one of the appliances that consumes the most.

Bearing in mind that it remains

on 24 hours a day,

a 350-litre capacity refrigerator with an integrated freezer, class A, purchased more than two years ago, costs 142 euros per year in electricity bills.

Spending on television is limited to 35 euros per year

On the lowest step of the podium is the television, an object considered essential by 40% of those surveyed.

The percentage is significantly higher among those over 65 years of age, where it reaches 55%, while it plummets to 23% among young people between the ages of 18 and 24.

In terms of consumption, assuming

four hours of daily use

, a 40-inch LCD television costs 35 euros per year.

The electric oven and the dishwasher: between 50 and 100 euros

In fourth and fifth place in the ranking of household appliances most valued by citizens are the oven and the dishwasher.

The first is essential for 19% of citizens, and the second for 14.6%.

Taking into account that we use these appliances, on average, every two days, the bill for an electric oven with a capacity of 70 liters is 62 euros per year, while that of a dishwasher would amount to 88 euros per year, always according to this study.

Putting the air conditioning can cost more than 200 euros

Continuing with the list of the most popular household appliances among those surveyed is the vacuum cleaner (essential for 11.5%).

And, next, in the lowest positions of the ranking we find the coffee maker (9.7%), the air conditioning (9.4%), the microwave (7.4%) and the iron (7%).

Among all of them, we must focus on air conditioning, the use of which, according to Facile.it estimates, can mean

up to 232 euros a year

in the electricity bill.
