"Ajman Economic Department" warns against imposing fees on the use of credit cards

 The Department of Economic Development in Ajman has warned economic establishments not to impose any fees on consumers when they use credit cards during the payment process.

She stressed that imposing any additional fees to the amount due upon purchase due to the use of the credit card is an illegal practice, and the added amount must be returned to the consumer.

Saud Al Shammari, Director of the Commercial Control and Protection Department, said that stores and shops in the emirate are obligated not to impose any additional fees when their customers use credit cards, explaining that this practice contradicts the applicable laws and regulations regulating the conduct of economic activities in the emirate, and the consumer has the right to demand the return of the additional amount. .

Al-Shammari called on consumers to report any practices in the event they are exposed to this and to submit a consumer protection complaint through the department's website ajmanded.ae, stressing that the department will recover his right after verifying this.
