Russian President Vladimir Putin, speaking at the Eastern Economic Forum (WEF), said that confidence in the dollar, euro and pound sterling as currencies in which you can make payments, store reserves, and nominate assets has been lost.
According to him, Russia is moving away step by step from such unreliable, compromising currencies.
Putin also noted that "even US allies are gradually reducing their dollar holdings."
Earlier, economist Mikhail Belyaev called the departure from the dollar a global trend.
