The G20 = energy ministers meeting of 20 major countries held in Indonesia has ended.

Energy security was the main theme, but it was not possible to compile a joint statement due to conflicts of opinion between the West and Russia.

Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Nishimura attended the G20 Energy Ministers' Meeting held in Bali, Indonesia, and ended just after 5:00 p.m. Japan time.

At the meeting, it is believed that opinions were exchanged on matters such as energy security, amid concerns about a tight supply-demand balance for natural gas and other supplies due to Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

However, Western countries have strongly criticized Russia for "using energy as a weapon," considering Russia, which has reduced its supply of natural gas to Germany and other countries after its invasion of Ukraine. There seems to be conflicting opinions.

As a result, Indonesia's Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Arifin, who is chairing the country, held a press conference to clarify that the countries were unable to compile the joint statement they were aiming for.

The confrontation between Europe and the United States and Russia has become clear again, and we are in a situation where we cannot find answers to issues that the international community must cooperate with, such as the stable supply of energy.
