“We managed to sign an agreement under which from September 1 through the southern direction, that is, through Serbia, in excess of the established contracts, the maximum amount of gas supplied daily to Hungary will be 5.8 million cubic meters,” RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.

Szijjarto noted that Hungary's energy supply is "physically impossible" without gas supplies from Russia.

Earlier, the State Secretary of the Hungarian Foreign Ministry for Bilateral Relations, Tamas Menzer, announced the start of additional gas supplies to Hungary by Gazprom in excess of the established contracts for Turkish Stream.
