After the Minister of Defense and a close adviser to the head of the Israeli government, it is the turn of the intelligence chief to go to Washington in the coming days to plead the Israeli case against the Iranian nuclear agreement.

David Barnea had taken a firm position last week by proclaiming that the agreement on the Iranian nuclear file which was taking shape was nothing less than a green light given to Tehran to acquire an atomic bomb.
He also claimed that the statements of Iranian leaders on this subject were nothing but a tissue of lies.
Israel is currently waging a "last minute" offensive to try to convince the West not to renew the 2015 Iranian nuclear program agreement, from which Donald Trump's United States withdrew three years later.

Yair Lapid repeats it: Israel is not opposed to the principle of an agreement, but it considers the currently negotiated text unacceptable, believing that it will allow Iran to destabilize the entire region.

Lapid, for his part, claims that the former prime minister had seriously undermined Israel by pushing for the revocation of the previous agreement.
The two men are to meet on Monday morning to discuss this file.
