China Southern Power Grid Corporation announced on the 27th that it will invest more than 10 billion yuan during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period to speed up the full coverage of township charging piles.
Among them, Guangdong will achieve full coverage of township charging piles by the end of September this year.
From January to July this year, the charging and swapping service industry in five southern provinces, including Guangdong, Guangxi, Yunnan, Guizhou, and Hainan, used 1.8 billion kWh of electricity, a year-on-year increase of 21.3%; among them, the charging capacity of China Southern Power Grid’s “Shunyi Charge” platform was 4.47 billion kWh. 100 million kWh, an increase of 82.44% year-on-year, and 1.24 million new users, an increase of 143.52% year-on-year.
China Southern Power Grid put into operation the first demonstration project with two-way interaction between vehicles and grids in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area in Shenzhen.

It is understood that China Southern Power Grid Corporation has built a total of 9,000 charging stations and 75,000 charging piles, covering all county-level and above cities in the five southern provinces and regions, and will achieve full coverage of all townships in the southern region by next year.

As of July 2022, the coverage rate of charging piles in towns and villages in the five southern provinces will reach 60%, with 2,754 townships covered.
Among them, Guangdong will achieve full coverage of township charging piles by the end of September this year; Guangxi and Hainan will achieve full coverage of township charging piles by the end of this year, and Yunnan and Guizhou can achieve 70% coverage.
It is expected that the five southern provinces and regions will achieve full coverage of township charging piles next year.
China Southern Power Grid Corporation announced that in 2022, the company plans to invest 1.8 billion yuan and build no less than 20,000 new charging piles; the cumulative investment in charging infrastructure during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period will reach more than 10 billion yuan.
It is estimated that by 2025, the charging facilities of China Southern Power Grid will cover 3,000 key residential communities; 1,000 expressway charging stations will be built, and a highway charging service circle with a service radius of less than 50 kilometers will be built; about 14,000 new charging facilities in tourist attractions will be added. .
Meng Zhenping, chairman and party secretary of China Southern Power Grid Corporation, recently delivered a speech at the main forum of the 2022 World New Energy Vehicle Conference, saying that China Southern Power Grid Corporation is willing to work with all parties to build a more complete service ecosystem and enable the integrated development of electric vehicles and the energy industry.
