Due to the continued rise in prices, the Chuseok market is also frightening.

When we tracked the prices of agricultural and fishery products surveyed by the Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation, it was found that the prices of cabbage, radish, spinach, and pollock in particular increased significantly compared to Chuseok a year ago.

Chinese cabbage 22%, pollack 43%, radish 52%, spinach 28%.

There were many reasons for the rise.

Cabbage and radish had a big problem with the weather.

A long rainy season followed by a prolonged drought significantly reduced yields.

In the case of pollack, the international situation had a great impact.

In Korea, they have not been caught for a long time, and they have to go to the Russian waters to catch them, but Russia has started a war.

Supply chain disruptions are disrupting supply and demand.

International inflationary pressures such as rising oil prices are also contributing factors to overall inflation.

In addition to the price of oil for distribution, the problem of fertilizer cost is also huge, and various subsidiary materials such as packaging paper are often based on petroleum, so the price has risen in series.

All of this put pressure on production costs.

Recently, the Seoul Agro-Fisheries and Food Corporation and Korea Price Information also surveyed the Chuseok price.

Compared to last year, we looked at how much more it would cost to set up a table, and we came up with an analysis that would increase by 8.5% and 9.7%, respectively.

It looks like it will be a difficult Chuseok for both consumers and producers, as neither the weather nor the international situation helps.
