Recently, the "magic medicine for myopia" atropine eye drops was stopped, making the hospital's own medicine once again become a hot topic of public discussion.

Every day, the outpatient clinics of major tertiary hospitals in Beijing are crowded, and many of them come to the star "small medicine" prepared by the hospital itself.

Fule Cream from Pediatric Research Institute, Dehumidification Pill from Beijing Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Compound Suanzaoren Ointment from Beijing Xiyuan Hospital... These hospitals are famous for their own medicines and are widely sought after. Huge army of purchasing agents.

They "lurked" on social platforms, looking for consumers with purchasing needs, and then selling them at a high price that was several times higher than the official price, making huge profits.

"Small Medicine" History

Hospital-made medicines, also known as preparations of medical institutions, are the products of special eras.

At the beginning of the founding of the People's Republic of China, due to the backwardness of my country's pharmaceutical industry, the production and supply of drugs could not meet social needs. The state encouraged hospitals to develop and adjust drugs for internal use in hospitals according to clinical needs to fill market vacancies.

The preparations of many hospitals in Beijing were formed during this period.

Fule Cream from Pediatric Research Institute, Dehumidification Pills from Beijing Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Compound Suanzaoren Ointment from Beijing Xiyuan Hospital, and Acne Liniment from Beijing Air Force General Hospital...Because of their affordable prices and good curative effects, home-made medicines from major medicines are highly sought after. They are sought after, and the fans even give them an intimate nickname - "little medicine".

Who is chasing Xiaoyao explosion

Recently, Ms. Citizen Nian found the blogger's recommendation of "Acne Removal Magic Medicine" on the homepage of Xiaohongshu, and found a way to buy it in the comment area - go to the hospital to register the medicine or find someone to buy it on your behalf.

A bottle of acne liniment, a pack of acne granules, and a tube of anti-acne cream, the three medicines posted by the blogger. The bottles are simple and display the word "H", which is the only dermatologist in Beijing Air Force General Hospital. The hospital that can only issue the medicine has the nickname of "empty total three-piece set".

Ms. Chen, who is troubled by eczema, is particularly keen to collect information on self-made medicines produced by dermatological research in various hospitals.

The collection list she showed to reporters covered nearly 10 self-made medicines, including compound glycerin antipruritic milk from Beijing Hospital, simethicone cream from Pediatric Research Institute, and boron-zinc paste from Peking Union Medical College Hospital.

"Basically, they are 'planted' on social platforms, and some are recommended by big V." Ms. Chen said.

Social platforms are becoming the centralized display place for these star "small medicines".

On August 23, the reporter searched Xiaohongshu with keywords such as "hospital's own medicine" and "in-hospital preparations", and saw a large number of "strategic posts" related to this: a blogger used video to sort out 11 top three in Beijing. The hospital is well-known for its own medicines, involving nearly 100 types of self-made medicines; some bloggers introduced the various self-made medicines of the Pediatric Research Institute in detail and attached them for symptoms, praising its "Chinese medicine ingredients with good effects and no side effects"; The master even gave recommended combinations of various self-made medicines, such as the "Eczema Set of the Children's Research Institute" and the "Three-piece Set of Eczema Treatment by Kong Zong", etc.

Some notes have been collected and liked nearly 2,000 times, and in the comment area below the notes, many users have left messages asking "how to come out", "is there any more", "I want it", and begging for related drugs.

"This kind of sharing notes is very popular, and almost every article has someone 'begging for purchasing', and most of the time they can get a reply." Ms. Chen said.

The value of small medicine purchases has doubled

"I want to buy the 'three-piece set' from the Children's Research Institute, please help!" On August 18, the mother of the child with a rash called for help on Xiaohongshu.

It didn't take long for more than 30 replies to appear in the comment area, many of which were professional purchasing messages.

According to the regulations, the packaging of the hospital's self-made medicines is printed with the words "This preparation is only for use in this medical institution", and can only be purchased and used by prescription in the developed medical institution.

However, the huge demand in the market has spawned an online purchasing chain, and Weibo and Xiaohongshu have become important channels for purchasing agents to "lurk" and attract customers.

The reporter randomly clicked on the homepages of three bloggers. Most of their notes were recommended by various hospitals in Beijing. They responded positively to the users who wanted to buy in the comment area, saying: "You can buy on your behalf", "You can find someone else to do it for you." open", "Tomorrow is over, do you need anything to bring?"

What is the price of affordable hospital-made medicine in the daigou market?

As a buyer, the reporter found 4 purchasing agents through Xiaohongshu.

Whenever the reporter reported a drug, the four purchasing agents could almost immediately reply to the quotation, photos, usage and dosage, and even the prescription of the relevant drug, and promised that all hospitals in Beijing could buy it from their own medicines.

"These drugs are all registered and prescribed by me at the hospital, and they are absolutely authentic." A purchasing agent told reporters.

In terms of drug prices, the quotations of the four purchasing agents were different, but without exception, they were all much higher than the official hospital prices.

Take the compound Suanzaoren ointment of Beijing Xiyuan Hospital as an example, which is quite famous in the treatment of insomnia. The hospital price is 97.86 yuan per bottle.

However, the prices given by the four purchasing agents were 299 yuan, 380 yuan, 325 yuan and 360 yuan per bottle, which were equivalent to 3.05 times, 3.88 times, 3.32 times, and 3.68 times the hospital price.

However, this is not the highest.

On Xiaohongshu, the reporter saw that the price of compound sour jujube seed ointment given by a purchasing agent was 560 yuan per bottle, which was equivalent to 5.72 times the hospital price.

Also stir-fried, there are dehumidification pills from Beijing Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital.

The medicine has been featured on TV programs such as "Health Care", and many citizens have sought after it as a "health product" for removing dampness and detoxification.

The reporter found that the in-hospital price of Beijing Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital is 27.9 yuan per box, and the individual only needs to pay 8.37 yuan after the medical insurance is shared.

However, the general quotation of purchasing agents is between 200 yuan and 300 yuan per box, and there are even purchasing agents who offer 399 yuan, which is equivalent to 14.3 times the hospital price and 13.3 times the price increase.

For the same drug, why is the daigou offer so much more expensive than the official one?

A number of purchasing agents explained that the medicines in their hands were all regular medicines that were registered and prescribed by themselves, and they had to add registration fees, errand fees, etc. to the original price.

"Drugs such as compound Suanzaoren ointment and dehumidification pills are restricted in hospitals. One ID card can only open one box a week. I have to go every now and then. Sometimes you may not be able to open it when you go to the doctor."

Where can I buy prescription drugs

In the process of inquiring about medicines, the reporter noticed that no matter how "hard to find" hospital-made medicines are on the market, purchasing agents can supply them in unlimited quantities.

For example, when the reporter proposed to buy 30 bottles of compound sour jujube seed paste at one time, a purchasing agent immediately agreed and said that it could be delivered by SF Express on the same day.

Where did they hoard such a large amount?

After investigation, the reporter found that the purchasing business of the hospital's own pharmaceuticals has formed an industrial chain. Some people are responsible for drainage, some people are responsible for distribution, and some people are responsible for developing offline.

During the unannounced visit, a purchasing agent issued an invitation to persuade the reporter to join the purchasing agent team.

He said that all the self-made medicines in hospitals in Beijing can be sourced, and the wholesale price can be given to reporters and "one-piece delivery", just need to provide the corresponding address of the customer.

At the same time, if the monthly sales of a single drug exceeds 300 units, there is still a commission of about 20%.

"You control the external quotations yourself. Purchasing agents are all '1000 people, 1000 prices', and you can sell them." Later, he showed a new quotation, and the price of each bottle of compound Suanzaoren paste also increased from the retail price of 380 yuan. Yuan dropped to the wholesale price of 295 yuan.

When the reporter stated that he had no experience in selling medicines, the daigou readily said, "Don't worry, you can send whatever message I send every day," and gave his Wechat photo album.

In this album, the information of self-made medicines of major hospitals in Beijing is readily available, including physical photos, real scenes of hospitals, screenshots of media reports, instructions for use, etc. Some medicines are also accompanied by registration slips and photos of prescriptions.

The reporter found that the physical pictures, registration slips, and prescription photos of several of the drugs were exactly the same as those sent to the reporter by the purchasing agent who claimed to be "on-site registration and prescribing".

How much can I earn as a downline?

The purchasing agent also took Fule Cream from the Children's Research Institute as an example and made a calculation for the reporter.

"The wholesale price is 90 yuan per piece, you can sell it at least 125 yuan per piece, and after you sell 300 pieces, each piece will be returned to you 20 yuan. I will give you the tracking number after delivery, and you can just copy it to her. In his description, reporters don't need to worry about purchasing and shipping, they just need to find buyers on social platforms, and a simple "buy and sell" can earn 35 to 55 yuan for a skincare cream. Profits, and the hospital price of the drug is only 42.86 yuan.

Past law enforcement records also show the "gang-like" nature of self-pharmaceutical purchases.

In August 2020, the Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau’s Environmental, Food, Drug and Tourism Safety and Security Team, together with the Haidian Branch, took down 8 gangs involved in the case, which were selling a large number of homemade drugs from major hospitals in Beijing, criminally detained 33 people, and destroyed 12 drugs. In the storage dens, more than 15,000 boxes of more than 320 kinds of medical preparations involving 30 hospitals in the city were seized on the spot.

Can the hospital's own medicines be prescribed by others?

During the visits, doctors in most hospitals were blunt.

The receiving doctors at Beijing Xiyuan Hospital and Beijing Air Force General Hospital directly rejected the reporter's request to prescribe medicine on their behalf and took the initiative to withdraw the number, saying that "the patient must be seen to prescribe medicine."

Only the doctor in the Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Orthopedics of Beijing Jishuitan Hospital said that reporters can replace the elderly with self-made "Tengyao" in the hospital to relieve lumbar disc herniation. At most 14 charges can be prescribed at a time, which can be used for about 50 days.

Is it safe to buy and use hospital preparations at will?

"Following the trend, I bought a moisturizing cream and anti-acne cream with an original price of 61 yuan for 160 yuan. I didn't expect to step on the 'thunder'." Donut, a netizen, said that after using it for a period of time, because the ointment was too greasy and heavy, Makes pimples more red.

"Our dermatologists can't make a comprehensive diagnosis without seeing the patient, and prescribing medicines poses a safety risk. Once the medicine is not symptomatic, it may endanger the patient's health." The receiving doctor of the Beijing Air Force General Hospital said that if the patient sees If you have a rash or acne on your body, and apply the "magic medicine" recommended by others without authorization, it is likely to delay or even aggravate the condition.
