Sony Group subsidiary Sony Interactive Entertainment announced on the 25th that it will raise the price of the home game console PlayStation 5 in Europe, the Middle East, China, etc. in addition to Japan.



As for the reason, the company says that it is due to the increase in parts prices due to soaring raw material prices and the impact of the weak yen.



On the other hand, the price in the United States will remain unchanged.



Of these, in Japan, the suggested retail price was raised by 5,500 yen from September 15th, and the new price is 60,478 yen including tax for the regular model with a Blu-ray Disc drive, and including tax for the model without it. It will be 49,478 yen.



The company commented, "In the global economic environment, various industries are forced to change, and the price revision is an unavoidable decision."
