The number of category A job seekers increased slightly in July (+0.6%) with 19,500 more registered to 3.185 million, according to figures from the Ministry of Labor published on Thursday.

The number of unemployed is stagnating

Nevertheless, these figures confirm that the number of unemployed in category A has stagnated since March after several quarters of continuous sharp decline.

In the second quarter (April-June), it only fell by 0.8% after a sharp fall of 5% in the first quarter.

The downward trend continues for the number of long-term unemployed (DELD, unemployed for more than a year) who represent 46.2% (-0.4 point) of those registered (A,B,C) at Employment center.
