According to TASS, LNG prices in the region are rising following the increase in the cost of liquefied natural gas and pipeline gas in Europe against the backdrop of Gazprom's announcement that supplies via Nord Stream will be suspended until September 2.

Rising prices are also provoked by intense competition in the market - Japan and South Korea are trying to maximize their stocks in anticipation of winter.

The director of the Energy Development Fund, Sergei Pikin, earlier called the rise in gas prices to $3,000 the beginning of the Europeans' problems.

At the same time, large liquefied natural gas traders are suffering losses of hundreds of millions of dollars due to plant outages in several countries.
