The mediation attempt to stop the Iberia Express cabin crew strike has ended this Friday without success, so the USO union maintains the call.

Earlier this week they announced strikes from August 8 to September 6.

They demand that the negotiation of the collective agreement of these airline workers be unblocked.

The USO union has reported this Friday that

the mediation meeting that was scheduled for today to try to bring positions closer has ended without an agreement.

"The result has been no agreement in the mediation, which leads to the next step is to try to agree on the minimum services. If no agreement is reached, it will be the Ministry of Transport who issues a resolution on minimum services," says the labor union.

The union calls for the consolidation of the 6.5% salary increase corresponding to 2021 for all levels, the creation of two salary levels with an 11% and 4% increase and a 24-month seniority bonus for all workers in the collective.

From Iberia Express they remember that they have reached an agreement with the CCOO with "improvements to deal with inflation", such as a single payment in the August payroll on account of the Agreement for an amount between 1,350 and 950 euros and the creation of two new levels, with wages 5% higher.

The new

Easyjet pilots' strike

day has caused this Friday the cancellation of 14 flights, six at El Prat-Barcelona airport, and eight at Palma de Mallorca, according to the Sepla pilots' union, which called the stops.

These cancellations

are added to the 36 registered in the first wave of stoppages

held from August 12 to 14.

The new stoppages will last from this Friday until Sunday and, later, from Saturday August 27 to Monday 29, coinciding with the return from vacation operation.

In today's case, the canceled flights had as their origin or destination Geneva, Paris, Milan, London and Basel.

In addition, the Sepla union has challenged before the National High Court

the minimum services decreed

by the Ministry of Transport for this strike, considering them abusive.

The Ministry established minimum services of 57% for flights based in Palma de Mallorca, 60% for flights in Malaga and 61% for those from Barcelona and Menorca.

Easyjet pilots claim to return to the conditions they had before the pandemic broke out.

The other airline that also adds stoppages of its cabin crew these days is

Ryanair.

They are done weekly, from Monday to Thursday.

This week there have been no cancellations as a result of the stoppages, but there have been more than 700 delays.

The strike will resume next Monday.

The intention of the unions is to continue with the weekly stoppages until January if they fail to reach an agreement with the Irish airline to improve the conditions of these workers.
