Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Strategy and Finance Chu Kyung-ho said that he would do all he could to respond to the Chuseok price while visiting a cabbage field in the highlands of Gangneung, Gangwon-do, and checking the crop.

Deputy Prime Minister Choo said, "We will take special measures to minimize the impact on supply and demand in the peak season, focusing on items related to the central region where heavy rain has occurred."

He also said, "If the supply and demand of agricultural products is unstable, we will immediately supply the government stockpiles, shipment control facilities, and vegetable price stabilizers to the market."

Regarding the recent torrential rains, he said, "Prompt recovery support is the most urgent task," he said.

The government plans to support pest control and supply of nutrients for items common in the central region, such as Chinese cabbage, radish, potato, apple, and pear, and to supply spare seedlings prepared in case of loss of cabbage due to heavy rain.
