For the review of the composition of the Dax, which is due at the beginning of September, there are currently no indications that there will be a change.

On the July ranking list published by Deutsche Börse on Thursday, the Düsseldorf-based armaments group Rheinmetall is the best-placed non-DAX stock in 35th place. However, the rapid price rally after Russia's attack on Ukraine has not continued recently.

Rheinmetall has been one of the 40 most valuable listed companies in Germany for months, which the Dax is supposed to reflect.

However, in the interests of index continuity, the exchange has raised the rules for climbers.

35th place is not enough for a safe ascent (fast entry), 33rd place would be necessary.

According to calculations by the index experts at the investment bank Stifel Europe, it is currently around 7 percent away.

But there is a second way to get into the Dax.

In addition to Rheinmetall, the promotion criterion according to the Regular-Entry rule is currently met by the Berlin food supplier Delivery Hero in 37th place, the Munich power plant technology group Siemens Energy in 38th place and Commerzbank in 39th place However, it is not only a rule to be one of the 40 most valuable companies, one of the current Dax values must also fall back to rank 48 or worse.

This is currently not the case.

The Berlin recipe box mail order company Hello Fresh is currently the weakest in 46th place.

Since the Dax listing became known last September, the price has slipped from more than 90 euros to as much as 25 euros, but has recently recovered to 30 euros.

According to Stifel's calculations, the lead over rank 48, which would mean relegation for Hello Fresh, is still around 4 percent.

The average market value of freely tradable shares on the last 20 trading days in August is relevant for the decision.

Thursday was therefore the first day that is included in the calculation.

So a lot can still happen on the remaining trading days.

The removal of the gas importer Uniper is very clearly indicated in the M-Dax.

After the price drop, the titles fell back to 115th place and thus so low that they should have to leave the M-Dax at the beginning of September according to the fast-exit rule.

The first candidate for promotion would be Adtran Holdings, an American telecom equipment supplier that has just been included in the S-Dax and has taken over Munich-based Adva Optical.

The car supplier Hella from Lippstadt and the Essen-based construction group Hochtief also have good chances of promotion to the M-Dax.

Adtran and Nordex could be promoted to the Tec-Dax.
