Statistics showed that the volume of loans granted to the private sector increased by more than 57 billion dirhams within five months, from one trillion and 137 billion and 528 million dirhams at the end of last December to one trillion and 194 billion and 558 million dirhams by the end of May 2022.

According to the Central Bank, corporate deposits in the country increased by 8.4 billion dirhams in one month, rising from 690.47 billion dirhams at the end of last April to 698.91 billion dirhams at the end of May, registering an increase of 27.5 billion dirhams in five months, as it was about 671,422 billion dirhams by the end of December 2021.

Statistics indicated that the Central Bank's gold reserves increased by 194 million dirhams within five months, reaching 12.107 billion dirhams at the end of last May, compared to 11.913 billion dirhams at the end of December 2021.

In addition, the recruitment process in banks operating in the country continued, as the number of bank employees increased by 391 employees within five months, as the number of employees increased from 33,491 employees at the end of last December to 33,882 employees at the end of May 2022.

The number of employees of national banks reached 27,122 employees at the end of last May, an increase of 359 employees within five months, reaching 26,763 employees at the end of December 2021, while the number of employees of foreign banks reached 6,760 employees at the end of May, an increase of 32 employees during the same period. They numbered 6,728 employees at the end of last December.

The number of head offices of national and foreign banks has stabilized at 59 head offices within five months.

National and foreign banks also maintained the number of their 584 branches during five months, including 510 branches of national banks and 74 branches of foreign banks.

The number of electronic service units for banks in the country increased by only one unit within five months to reach 63 units, including 42 units affiliated with national banks and 21 electronic units affiliated with foreign banks.
