The World Green Economy Summit discusses energy, finance, food security and youth

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority and the World Green Economy Organization are organizing the eighth edition of the World Green Economy Summit, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on 28 and 29 September 2022 at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

The summit session will discuss a number of main themes, such as: energy, finance, food security, youth, and other topics that contribute to advancing the process of transformation towards a green economy and accelerating the wheel of sustainable development.

The summit focuses on the decarbonization of energy systems, the strategy of environmental, social and corporate governance practices, attracting investments to achieve green development, promoting sustainable mobility and sustainable transport networks, ensuring a built environment that copes with future changes, as well as developing innovative technologies that support the transition towards a low-carbon future, and providing chains Robust, resilient value, and engaging the next generation in making carbon neutrality a reality.

Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Vice Chairman of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, Managing Director and CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority and Chairman of the World Green Economy Summit, said: "The objectives of the World Green Economy Summit are in line with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, to achieve a balance between economic growth sustainability of natural and environmental resources.

The summit also supports the efforts of the UAE to host the 28th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28) at Expo City Dubai in 2023, and the country's efforts to achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals for 2030, the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050, and the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050.
