The Import and Export Food Safety Bureau of the Animal and Plant Quarantine Department of the General Administration of Customs issued a notice on suspending the import of citrus fruits, chilled white hairtail and frozen horse mackerel from Taiwan to the mainland

Since last year, the mainland customs have repeatedly detected quarantine pests—Planococcus minor, and the residues of fenthion and dimethoate in citrus fruits exported from Taiwan to the mainland. New coronavirus nucleic acid was detected on the packaging of frozen white-haired fish and frozen horse mackerel in mainland China.

In order to prevent risks, according to the relevant laws, regulations and standards of the mainland, it is hereby decided to suspend the import of citrus fruits, chilled white hairfish and frozen horse mackerel from Taiwan to the mainland from August 3, 2022.

From August 3, 2022, the customs will suspend the acceptance of customs declarations for citrus fruits, chilled white hairtail, and frozen horse mackerel in Taiwan, and will promptly notify relevant enterprises within their jurisdictions of the above.
