In addition, 24.9% of the respondents answered that they plan to increase the amount of money they spend on summer vacation, and many people plan to increase their spending to go on trips and leisure activities.
On the other hand, 14.4% of respondents said that they plan to reduce their spending, and more than half of them said that the reason for this was that soaring prices had made their households financially difficult.
Yuichi Kodama, Fellow Chief Economist at the Meiji Yasuda Research Institute, said, ``The current recovery in consumption is the so-called revenge consumption in reaction to the coronavirus pandemic, and will gradually settle down after the summer.
