Gasoline

and diesel

have fallen again during the last week to register average prices of

1,754 and 1,733 euros per

liter, applying the discount of 20 cents from the Government, their

lowest levels in the last two months

at the gates of starting the operation August departure.

In addition, according to data released by the European Union (EU) Oil Bulletin, which includes the

average price

registered at more than 11,400 Spanish service stations between July 19 and 25,

the price of both fuels fell below the barrier of 2 euros per

liter even if the public discount was not applied.

With these values, the

cost of gasoline has decreased by 3.9%

in the last seven days, while

diesel is 2.2%

cheaper than a week ago.

Thus, during the last seven days,

gasoline

marked its lowest price since the penultimate week of May, when it was paid at

1.74 euros per liter

, while

diesel

or not cost so cheap since the beginning of June, when it was at

1,716 euros

.

Both fuels

are also below the prices registered at the end of March, when the Government established the

bonus of 20 cents per liter

for all consumers.

In addition,

if the mandatory discount

established by the Government is excluded,

gasoline

would drop below 2 euros per liter for the first time in two months, with an

average price of 1,954 euros

;

while

diesel

falls below this barrier for the second consecutive week, standing at

1,933 euros.

Behind the

high levels

that gasoline and diesel continue to register since the beginning of the year is mainly the

rise in oil prices

, a trend that has been reversed in recent weeks and that is beginning to be progressively reflected in the

final price of fuels

.

To cushion the impact that the

rise in gasoline and diesel prices

is having on citizens, the Government has extended until the end of the year the bonus of 20 cents per liter of fuel for all consumers.

BETWEEN 19 AND 21 EUROS MORE EXPENSIVE THAN IN JANUARY

The

escalation of both fuels

has caused the price of

gasoline

to have increased by nearly

19%

since the beginning of the year, compared to

29%

that

diesel

has become more expensive .

With

current prices

, filling an average 55-liter tank with

gasoline

is slightly over

96 euros

, while with

diesel it stands at 95 euros

, which means paying about

19 euros more than at the beginning of 2022

if gasoline is used, and 21 euros if diesel is chosen.

However, thanks to the Government bonus, consumers

save about 11 euros when filling a tank

of this type, whether they use gasoline or choose diesel.
