Volumes passing through the Nord Stream gas pipeline will be halved, Russia announced on Wednesday.

On the side of the customers of this supplier in France, there is some concern.

This is particularly the case of this restaurant owner from Lille whom Europe 1 met.

He expects the floodgates to be cut off.

Stylianos is the boss of the establishment the island of Crete located in the city center of Lille.

Three years ago, this restaurateur chose Gazprom Energy, a subsidiary of Gazprom, as an energy supplier, because it was financially attractive: "Until now, things were going perfectly well, but since there was war in Ukraine, we only receives installments".

Invoices which have been, for three months, curiously, undervalued, sometimes even divided by twenty as this manager explains.

Invoices divided by 20

"We paid 99.29 euros for the month of June. Usually, at this time of year, we are around 2,000 euros".

Explanations from the Russian giant, Stylianos would like to have some, but no news, no mail, his calls remain unanswered.

"We don't know what sauce we're going to be eaten with. They're going to empty our accounts, but if we have to pay, I'll do it," said the boss.

The fear of the gas cut

Nevertheless, his great fear remains that the floodgates will be cut off: "Me, what worries me is arriving one day in the morning to open the restaurant and not having any more gas. I have my stoves which go to gas, my boilers, hot water. We are a little scared", insists this manager.

"Without gas, how do I open my establishment? What future for my 11 employees?" Launches this boss.
