Aujourd’hui, l’usine de Melfi assemble la Fiat 500 X ainsi que les Jeep Renegade et Compass. Autant de modèles qui partagent les mêmes dessous techniques. Selon nos confrères de l’Argus, dès 2024, le site italien travaillera aussi pour le compte de DS, de Lancia et d’Opel. Chez Stellantis, la réorganisation industrielle poursuit donc son chemin.
The four models will obviously share the same technical base, namely the STLA Medium platform which will be inaugurated by the new Peugeot 3008 expected at the end of 2023. Derived from the EMP2 base, its design will make it possible to offer a 100% electric version with the new Nidec engine. M3 developing from 125 to 150 kW (100 kW for the current engine).
For now, no information has filtered about future models.
That said, we already know that Opel plans to launch the Manta SUV in 2025, just as it was announced at the end of 2021 that the second generation of the DS 7 would be produced in Melfi.
The second DS model will be a crossover derived from the ASL concept (photo) presented in 2020. As for the Lancia model, it could be the rebadged equivalent of the DS 7.
