The specifications were simple: electrify the A110 by equaling the performance, balance and agility of the thermal version, while relying on the strengths, experience and technologies of the Renault group.

Parts of Mégane E-Tech

Naturally, the designers first looked at what was already available for this new project in the organ and technology bank.

The battery modules are therefore identical to those of the Mégane E-Tech with, however, a different distribution: four modules have therefore been placed at the front and eight at the rear.

Despite the addition of these twelve modules, the total weight of the Alpine A110 E-ternity remains particularly contained with an increase of only 258 kg.

In order to free itself from the compromise between acceleration and top speed without resorting to high power and therefore large batteries, the electric motor is mated to an innovative 2-speed dual-clutch gearbox.

Cabrio!

Another originality, the electric A110 is also a convertible.

To do this, the engineers came up with a simple and light solution, without affecting the rigidity: two roof shells injected with recycled carbon.

An element designed and produced entirely in-house.

We also note the presence of a state-of-the-art audio system comprising 8 loudspeakers including the subwoofer and a multimedia system where the driver's personal tablet becomes the vehicle screen.

Finally, some pieces were made from linen, a light, natural material with good soundproofing characteristics.

Concretely, this gives an A110 of 1378 kg (the objective is to arrive at 1320 kg), which with its 242 hp and 300 Nm engine, is capable of going from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 s and to reach more than 250 km/h.

Figures quite close to those of the thermal version, silence in addition.

Less fun?

This remains to be verified...
