At a meeting with President Vladimir Putin, he said that a full-scale production of high-purity neon had been launched at the Bauman Moscow State Technical University.

The university team completed the task in just 3.5 months.

“The new facilities will use Russian raw materials, which are produced at air separation plants of metallurgical enterprises... Today, Russia produces over 30% of the world volume of neon-helium mixture, but at the Baumanka site we plan to initially produce about 70 thousand cubic meters of neon per year, this corresponds to approximately 10% of the global market.

And next year we will increase production to 180 thousand cubic meters, and we will be able to meet almost a quarter of the world's needs,” the minister said.

Thus, Russia will be able to replace the volume previously supplied by two Ukrainian enterprises, which are currently not functioning.

“And for xenon and krypton, it’s also about 30%,” said Manturov.

Earlier, State Duma deputy Ivan Sukharev proposed expanding the list of Russian goods sold to unfriendly countries in rubles.

It is proposed to include inert gases among such goods.
