Vacationers don't have it easy this summer.

Unless your flight is cancelled, queues, delays and lost suitcases are all part of the journey.

As if that wasn't enough chaos, travelers are now being saddled with an unnecessary escalation of a fare dispute.

The Verdi union is calling on Lufthansa ground staff to go on a all-day warning strike, including more failures.

For years, collective bargaining conflicts have been getting out of hand, especially at Lufthansa.

Verdi owes no explanation as to why travelers now have to be surprised with an excessive walkout, although the next round of negotiations - it is only the third - has a fixed date and Lufthansa is willing to pay a significant premium.

However, the fact that the group is now regularly met with distrust and bitterness in collective bargaining disputes makes it difficult to see it as a mere victim.

A conflict is brewing again with the pilots.

Too much escalation is harmful.

Avoiding this is the task of everyone involved.
