In 2019, three years before the 20th anniversary, the fourth generation of the RS 6 (C8) arrives at dealerships and remains true to its heritage.

Four liters of displacement, two turbos, 600 hp, and now 800 Nm of torque.

For the first time in its history, this car is assisted by a 48-volt mild hybrid system, which further improves its efficiency.

Although it is a little heavier, the RS 6 Avant reaches 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds, and it takes only 12 seconds to reach 200 km/h.

It also sets new standards in lateral acceleration and cornering behavior.

While the C5, C6 and C7 generations of the RS 6 were only distinguishable from other station wagons at second glance, the C8 creates a different impression: even laymen immediately recognize that it is not an A6 like others.

The roof, front doors and tailgate are the only elements that the RS 6 Avant shares with the base model A6 Avant.

All other components have been modified specifically for the RS and the body has been widened by 8 cm.

The RS6 also has its own bonnet.

This fourth generation also brought an important novelty: four-wheel steering.

At high speeds the rear wheels turn in the same direction as the front wheels for the benefit of stability while at low speeds they turn in the opposite direction to reduce the turning radius and make maneuvering easier.

Surprisingly, in Europe more than half of customers order a towbar.

One more proof that you don't buy an RS 6 just for its sporting performance, even if this latest generation can also benefit from an air suspension as well as a controlled suspension.

Unlike its predecessors, the C8 generation is not assembled in separate halls (which have since been renamed Audi Sport GmbH), but comes from the same Neckarsulm assembly line as the classic A6s.
