According to her, the Central Bank currently has no reason to expect that the situation with the inflow of foreign currency in cash will change in the near future.

The head of the Central Bank recalled that the decisions of unfriendly countries to ban the import of cash into Russia remain in force.

At the same time, Russian banks should be able to ensure for all citizens their rights to previously opened foreign currency accounts, and receive the amount within the allowed limit of 10 thousand, she stressed.

“That is why in September we will be forced to extend the restrictions that we introduced in early March,” RIA Novosti quotes Nabiullina.

Also, the head of the Central Bank said that parallel imports in Russia will have a disinflationary effect, as supply in the market will grow.

On March 9, the Bank of Russia introduced a temporary procedure for operations with cash, according to which a client can withdraw up to $10,000 in cash, and the rest in rubles at the market rate on the day of issue.

After that, the Central Bank announced that non-resident legal entities and non-resident individual entrepreneurs will temporarily not be able to receive cash in dollars, euros, yen and pounds.
