An agreement to increase the branch minimums in logistics, a particularly tense sector affected by the labor shortage, was reached on Friday between employers' organizations and three unions.

All the coefficients must thus be revalued up to 8% for workers and employees, and 5% for executives, from September 1st.

“Preserving the attractiveness of the sector”

This agreement “makes it possible to take into account the latest increases in the Smic, including that scheduled for August 1”, welcomed the Union TLF, one of the employers' organizations in the sector, in a press release.

The other employers' organizations (FNTR, FNTV and OTRE) also signed the agreement, as did three of the five representative unions (CFDT, CFTC and CFE-CGC) which together represent more than 50% of employees in the sector.

This agreement "testifies to the commitment of the social partners to preserve the attractiveness of the sector", rejoiced the Union TLF.

Not a landmark deal for the CFTC

An observation tempered by Thierry Douine, president of the CFTC-Transports, signatory of the agreement.

"This is not what you would call a historic agreement," he told AFP.

“It allows us to bring out the grids from below the minimum wage level, but if inflation continues to gallop, we will have to get back around the table at the beginning of next year”, he added.

“If tomorrow they (the employers) want to find an employment dynamic vis-à-vis young people, they will have to do more”, judged Thierry Douine.

The TLF Union has let it be known that it is ready to negotiate the introduction of a 13th month from the start of the school year, but also of a plan to reduce "work accidents and occupational diseases" and a "base of social protection".
