's friendly economy time.

Reporter Han Ji-yeon is also here today (the 22nd).

Most of the time when I call a taxi these days, I think I'll use the app to call a taxi and ride it.

However, complaints from consumers seem to continue, and in particular, they say that there are a lot of complaints about the price recently.

<Reporter>

More than half of the complaints received at the Consumer Agency are related to fees, and I would like to look at the cancellation fee.

There are many people who are using the taxi calling app well, but there were many people who did not know this part, and there was a reason.

There are currently four places that charge cancellation fees: 'Kakao T', 'Tada', 'I.M' and 'half and half taxi', but Kakao T and half and half taxi only apply to taxis that are a bit more expensive.

The cancellation fee varies by company, but for Kakao T, which is used a lot, for example, if the train is canceled after 1 minute has elapsed, or if there is no contact or boarding within 5 minutes from the scheduled departure time, up to 5,000 A fee of KRW was incurred.

Reservation calls are more expensive, so as of June, you have to pay a maximum of 50,000 won, and now it is lowered to 30,000 won.

However, there was only one 'half-half taxi' to display information about the fee on the screen when making a call from 4 apps that charge fees.

It is not easy for consumers to even know if there is a cancellation fee.

That's right.

From the consumer's point of view, there must have been a lot of people who didn't really know, and there seems to be a part that is not well known.

It is said that the results of a survey of consumers answered on the days and times of the week when it is difficult to get a taxi.

<Reporter>

If you've used a taxi calling app these days, you'll probably feel the same way.

Those of you who have already made an appointment for today's 'Friday' must already be worried, but as expected, Friday's average call attempts were the most difficult with 2.63 times.

Monday is 1.6 times, and from Tuesday to Thursday is 1.74 times, which is about 1 time different from Friday.

By time zone, from midnight to 6:00 a.m., the number was 3.15 times, up to 1.66 times higher than other times.

There is no regional division in this survey, and calling this number of times does not mean that the dispatch was successful.

According to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, even if you call a taxi in Seoul late at night, 3 out of 4 people cannot get it.

There are many cases where consumers get tired of catching a taxi and go to a jjimjilbang or accommodation.

Taxi-calling apps are starting to hire taxi drivers by raising rates during peak hours or offering incentives of thousands of won per case.

After all, the reason why taxis are not available is because there are so many people who want to take a taxi to a certain time and place, but there are no taxis.

In particular, as the corona virus passes, taxi drivers, especially corporate taxis, have decreased a bit, so there will be a decrease in taxi supply.

They say that the government has come up with measures to overcome the shortage of taxis.

What are the options?

<Reporter>

First, the number of taxi reporters this year has decreased by 30,000 compared to just before the corona virus.

Because there is no one outside because of the distance, taxi drivers often shift to delivery or surrogacy. Let's hear it.

[Taxi Driver: It’s all different industries…

That's rather better.

You grab a chicken leg and shake it.

Delivery of chicken on a motorcycle has elasticity, so if there is a lot of order, the fare goes up.]

Looking at the Seoul corporate taxi utilization rate, it decreased from 50% in the first quarter of 2019 to 31% in the first quarter of this year, and 7 out of 10 are in the parking lot. that it's stopped.

The flexible fare system is a card that the government took out to get the taxi drivers who left like this to come back.

The fare is raised as the demand for taxi calling apps during the late night hours is high, and it is expected that the rate will rise at least 25% from 10pm to 2am.

In addition, we are considering the revival of ride-sharing platforms such as 'Tada Taxi', which has been virtually banned by law, and the backlash from the taxi industry seems to be strong.
