US President Joe Biden left the Middle East this weekend, during which he signed a security pact with Israel committing the United States never to allow Iran to acquire nuclear weapons.

And this Monday, several Iranian officials declare that Tehran has the technical capacity to manufacture nuclear weapons.

This statement was made by the former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Kamal Kharazi who is an adviser to the Supreme Leader and head of the Strategic Council for Foreign Relations.

"We have the technical capacity to manufacture atomic weapons, but we have not taken the decision to do so," said Kamal Kharazi in an interview on Al Jazeera television channel. 

During his visit to Saudi Arabia and Israel, the American president assured several times that Washington will prevent Iran by all means from gaining access to atomic weapons.

In response to Israeli threats, Iranian officials also said that the Iranian armed forces had repeatedly simulated attacks against Israel, including against its nuclear facilities.
