“On July 17, Canada sent to Germany a repaired Siemens Energy gas turbine used to supply gas through the Nord Stream gas pipeline from Russia to Germany,” Kommersant reports, citing sources familiar with the situation.

It is noted that the turbine will not be delivered by water, as originally planned, but by plane, which should speed up transportation.

After the car arrives in Germany, it will take about five to seven days to deliver it to Russia, provided there are no problems with logistics and customs.

The turbine will be sent to Russia by ferry and by land via Helsinki.

Earlier, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz thanked "Canadian friends and allies" for the decision to return Germany a Siemens gas turbine for the Nord Stream pipeline.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said that Ottawa had a hard time deciding to transfer the turbine for the Nord Stream gas pipeline to Germany.

The Russian company "Gazprom" officially applied to Siemens with a request to provide documents allowing to take out a gas turbine engine for the Portovaya CS.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, in a conversation with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, said that Ukrainians "will never accept Canada's decision regarding the turbine for Nord Stream."
