China News Service, July 14. The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs held a symposium on pig production in Cangzhou City, Hebei Province on the 13th.

The meeting held that the current live pig production situation is generally stable and improving, the number of live pigs in stock has remained stable, the production capacity of reproductive sows is in a normal and reasonable area, and the pig breeding has turned losses into profits.

The meeting pointed out that due to the superposition of factors such as reluctance to sell by some farmers and secondary fattening, the price of live pigs rose sharply at the end of June and early July, and the recent fluctuations have stabilized.

Due to the sufficient production capacity of reproductive sows, the basic conditions for a sustained and substantial increase in the later period are not available.
