International report: The UAE is the first in the Middle East to live

The UAE ranked first regionally in the list of the best countries to live in, according to the “Expat Insider 2022” report issued by the “Internation” Foundation, in addition to being considered among the top 10 destinations for expatriate work.

The Expat Insider survey included a survey of 12,000 people around the world, covering issues including the extent of expatriate satisfaction with quality of life, ease of settling and working abroad, personal finance in their country of residence, and others.

71% of the respondents said that they are happy with their lives in the UAE, which is the same as the global average.

The report indicated that expatriates in the UAE are particularly pleased with the ease of completing government transactions, as the country ranked third on this criterion.

83% of the respondents indicated that it is easy to obtain a residence visa in the UAE, compared to 56% globally, making it the first country in the world in this factor.

And 61% of the respondents said that they do not face any problem when dealing with government departments within the country.

The administrative government services that are widely available on the network also contribute greatly to the happiness of expatriates in the UAE.

About 85% of respondents say it is easy to live in the UAE without having to speak the local language, compared to 51% globally.

The UAE ranks fifth among the top 10 destinations in the quality of life index, and expats were particularly pleased with the entertainment options, with their appreciation for the diversity of dining options, as well as the culture and nightlife.

The UAE ranked third globally in the personal safety standard, with 94% of respondents saying that they are happy with the safety levels in the country.

Also, about 86% of expatriates expressed their strong satisfaction with the political stability in the UAE.

On the other hand, 78% of expats said they find it easy to access all types of healthcare services they need, while the UAE ranks very high in the quality of medical care (6th globally) and in the availability of healthcare (also 6th).

The UAE ranked 13th in the stability criterion, with 77% of expats saying they feel welcome there, and two out of three (65%) saying they are happy with their social life.

The survey found that 87% of expats are happy with the level of job security and salaries, yet only 55% feel they are being paid fair for their work, based on the sector, qualifications and their job role.
