“The turbine will be installed at a gas compressor station in the Leningrad Region, at the beginning of the Nord Stream, its offshore part, it will start working and, perhaps, even increase its throughput,” he said in an interview with the 360 TV channel.

Yushkov noted that the question is whether Ottawa is ready for constant cooperation.

“If they are ready to cooperate constantly, the next turbines will be brought there, they will repair them, then as a result, Nord Stream will reach its full capacity in September-October,” he explained.

This will allow the Europeans to prepare for the heating season, Yushkov concluded.

Earlier, Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection Robert Habek urged Canada to resolve the issue with the delivery of a turbine for the Nord Stream gas pipeline.

After that, Reuters reported that Canada had decided to return the turbine to Berlin.

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz welcomed the decision.
