During a meeting with members of the government, he recalled that the European Union had introduced another sanctions package against Russia with an oil embargo.

“Domestic companies should be ready for this decision,” Putin stressed.

The head of state recalled that the prospects for such restrictions were discussed at the last meeting on the fuel and energy complex.

Earlier it was reported that the sixth package of EU sanctions includes an embargo on crude oil and some oil products from Russia. 

The new sanctions package also provides for the disconnection of Sberbank, Rosselkhozbank and Moscow Credit Bank from SWIFT.

Also, the leading analyst of the National Energy Security Fund, an expert of the Financial University, Igor Yushkov, in an interview with URA.RU, commented on the situation with oil supplies to the EU against the backdrop of sanctions against Russia.
