Abu Dhabi International: 2.8 million passengers during July and August

Abu Dhabi Airports Company announced an increase in travel traffic at Abu Dhabi International Airport, as part of expectations related to the Eid al-Adha and summer holidays.


Abu Dhabi Airports expected that 2.8 million passengers will use Abu Dhabi International Airport during the months of July and August of this year, including 414,000 passengers during the Eid Al-Adha period between the seventh and 15 July 2022.


"We are pleased to see increased traffic as the sector continues to recover and consumer confidence returns," said Francois Burrin, Chief Commercial Officer at Abu Dhabi Airports.

Travel traffic during the upcoming peak season will have a positive impact on our estimates of travel traffic for 2022, which we expect to exceed 13 million passengers through Abu Dhabi International Airport by the end of the year.”


Abu Dhabi Airports advised travelers from Abu Dhabi International Airport to take advantage of online/remote check-in points, baggage delivery points and other services provided by airlines, to ensure a smooth airport experience and avoid potential delays.

She confirmed that the PCR-nasal swab facility is still available at the airport as well, an optional service for 40 dirhams for travelers who wish to activate the green traffic condition on the “Al Hosn” application, noting that it is mandatory to enter public places, tourist attractions and centers.
