Last month's sales at five major department stores all exceeded the same month last year, partly due to an increase in the number of customers visiting the store.
Five major department stores released preliminary sales figures for last month on the 1st.
According to this,
▽ Hankyu Hanshin Department Store increased by 20.2%,
▽ Daimaru Matsuzakaya Department Store 19.1%,
▽ Mitsukoshi Isetan Holdings 13.3%,
▽ Takashimaya 12.3%, and
▽ Sogo Seibu increased by 7.2%, both of which increased.
This is due to an increase in the number of customers visiting the store due to the reaction to the partial closure due to the state of emergency issued in June last year.
By product,
▽ high-priced items such as jewelery and watches continued to perform well, and
▽ in the latter half of the month, the heat was severe in various parts of the country, and sales of summer items such as parasols and blouses increased.
However, compared to the same month of 2019, which was before the spread of the infection, sales of each company were 3% to 15% lower, and they have not recovered to the level before Corona.
