  [Explanation] From small workshop processing to more than 700 large-scale enterprises, in more than 40 years, this seemingly inconspicuous town has developed into one of the four major wire and cable production bases in China, with a total output value accounting for a quarter of North China. This is Jiajiakou Town, Ningjin County, Hebei Province, also known locally as "Hongtong Town".

Hongtong is the homonym of red copper, the main material of the cable industry, and also represents the people's yearning and pursuit for "red days".

Relying on this industry, Jiajiakou Town has embarked on a path of industrial enrichment.

  Jiajiakou Town has been engaged in wire processing and production since the late 1970s, mainly in Huangeryingxi Village and Xiaohezhuang Village. Taking advantage of the east wind of reform and opening up, more and more people (Jiajiakou Town) joined this In the industry, it started with family workshops. Since 2000, we (the government) have guided small and scattered family workshop-style enterprises to concentrate in the park. We have planned cable processing and production parks in key villages (Jiajiakou Town). , and realized the transformation from a family workshop to a modern enterprise.

  [Explanation] The wire and cable industry in Jiajiakou Town is mainly concentrated in 5 villages including Huangerying West Village and Xiaohezhuang Village.

Walking in Huangerying West Village, the spacious and straight roads, uniformly planned houses, row upon row of shops, large-scale industrial enterprises... It is hard to imagine that this is a village.

62-year-old Sun Yancui is a villager in Huangerying West Village. Her lover and children are both engaged in this industry.

According to Sun Yancui's recollection, the change happened after 2000. Under the active guidance of the local government, Huangerying West Village and several surrounding villages planned and built industrial parks, so that small workshop-style processing can develop into a large-scale and enterprise-oriented development.

In addition, the village has benefited from the transfer of land to the villagers.

Relying on the wire and cable industry, the villagers have stable jobs and income without leaving their homes, and life is getting better day by day.

  His father also works, his son also works, and his (son) daughter-in-law also works. They all work (in the cable company) and earn more than 200,000 a year. They don't need to go to work outside, just in Huangerying (West Village), (surroundings) Thirty and twenty li (the villagers) all came to work in our village.

  Now there are more than 200 cable companies and thousands of commercial stores in the village, with a per capita (annual) income of more than 50,000 yuan. Relying on the development of the cable industry, the village has implemented many convenient measures, including its own large hotel and commercial street. There are educational parks and red tourism (etc.), so that villagers can eat, drink, play, and shop without leaving the village.
