China News Service, June 30. According to data from the Ministry of Finance, in May, a total of 32.765 billion yuan of lottery tickets were sold nationwide, an increase of 2.563 billion yuan or 8.5% year-on-year.
Among them, the sales of welfare lottery institutions were 13.142 billion yuan, an increase of 1.824 billion yuan or 16.1% year-on-year; the sales of sports lottery institutions were 19.623 billion yuan, an increase of 739 million yuan or 3.9% year-on-year.
From January to May, a total of 150.083 billion yuan of lottery tickets were sold nationwide, an increase of 6.255 billion yuan or 4.3% year-on-year.
Among them, the sales of welfare lottery institutions were 61.783 billion yuan, an increase of 5.305 billion yuan or 9.4% year-on-year; the sales of sports lottery institutions were 88.300 billion yuan, an increase of 950 million yuan or 1.1% year-on-year.

Judging from the sales of lottery tickets by region, in May, compared with the same period of the previous year, except for Beijing, Liaoning, Jilin, Heilongjiang, Shanghai and Qinghai, the sales of other provinces increased.
The top three sales declines were Shanghai (-88.1%), Jilin (-31.4%) and Beijing (-27.5%), mainly due to the impact of the new crown pneumonia epidemic.
