flydubai celebrated the launch of its inaugural flight to the Italian city of Pisa, becoming the first national airline to operate direct flights to this city in central Italy.

The carrier said in a statement that it will operate three flights a week from Dubai International Airport to Pisa International Airport.

The flights to this destination will be part of the codeshare flights with Emirates Airlines, which will give passengers smoother connections through the International Flight Center in Dubai.


Inaugural flight

According to the carrier, the inaugural flight arrived at Pisa International Airport on June 24, when it was greeted upon landing on the runway with traditional water sprinklers. CEO of flydubai, Ghaith Al Ghaith.

Upon his arrival in Pisa, the flydubai delegation met the Italian official delegation headed by the President of Tuscany Airport, Marco Cari, and then the reception was followed by a press conference held at the airport.

He stressed that the start of flydubai's operations to Pisa reflects the airline's commitment to opening unserved markets and linking them to direct flights with Dubai.

For his part, Marco Cari, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Tuscany Airports, said: "The flydubai flight represents the beginning of the connection between Pisa and Dubai, and the beginning of cooperation with the airline."

Three destinations

Flydubai indicated that Pisa joined Catania and Naples, as the third destination for the airline's network in Italy.



As of June 24, flydubai also offers three flights a week to Catania on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.

It also operates four flights a week to Naples on Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

According to "Fly Dubai", the airline's flights to Pisa will operate three times a week on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays from Terminal 3 at Dubai International Airport.

Round-trip prices for economy class tickets from Dubai International Airport to Pisa start from 2,500 dirhams, and round-trip business class prices start from 11,000 dirhams.

The prices of economy class tickets from "Pisa" to Dubai start from 530 euros, and business class prices for a round trip start from 2,500 euros.
