According to the requirements of the “Implementation Measures for the Regulations on the Administration of Recall of Defective Automobile Products”, a recall plan has been filed with the State Administration for Market Regulation, and the following vehicles are planned to be recalled.
(1) From August 10, 2022, some imported S-Class vehicles with production dates between August 14, 2020 and February 17, 2021 will be recalled, totaling 682 vehicles.
The airbag control unit of the vehicles within the scope of this recall may not be tightened according to the process parameters. When the vehicle is running normally, the airbag control unit may detect incorrect acceleration values, which cannot completely rule out the occupant restraint system in the vehicle. Possibility of accidental activation; in the event of a vehicle collision, the airbag control unit may also cause the occupant restraint system to fail to activate as required for the same reason, posing a safety hazard.
Mercedes-Benz (China) Automobile Sales Co., Ltd. will check whether the threaded connection of the airbag control unit is damaged for the vehicles covered by the recall free of charge through authorized Mercedes-Benz dealers. Tighten with standard torque; repair if damaged, and replace bolts and nuts if they cannot be repaired to eliminate safety hazards.
(2) Starting from June 24, 2022, some imported GLE 350 e 4MATIC vehicles with production dates between February 17, 2020 and November 10, 2021 will be recalled, totaling 4,697 vehicles.
Due to insufficient tightening torque, the fixing bolts of the vehicle power grid battery wiring harness connector of the vehicles within the scope of this recall may not be properly fixed, resulting in an increase in the resistance of the wiring harness connector area, which may lead to an increase in the temperature of the area, and the risk of fire cannot be completely ruled out.
Mercedes-Benz (China) Automobile Sales Co., Ltd. will re-tighten the fixing bolts of the on-board power grid battery wiring harness connector for the vehicles within the recall range free of charge through the authorized Mercedes-Benz dealers; if there are any If the relevant parts are damaged, the damaged parts will be replaced free of charge to eliminate potential safety hazards.
(3) From June 24, 2022, some domestic E-class vehicles with production dates from December 3, 2020 to June 1, 2021 will be recalled, totaling 4 vehicles.
Due to the software problem of the LED high-performance headlight control unit of the vehicles within the scope of this recall, the low-beam light of the LED high-performance headlights may not be turned on, which increases the risk of vehicle accidents and poses a safety hazard.
Beijing Benz Automobile Co., Ltd. will replace the LED high-performance headlight control unit for the vehicles within the recall scope free of charge through Mercedes-Benz authorized dealers to eliminate safety hazards.
