The

5th edition of the 'Merco University Talent' ranking,

which was presented this Wednesday, reveals which are, for university students,

the 100 best companies to work for in Spain

.

in the 'top 10' there are, above all, technology giants, banks and large distribution and consumer firms.

But, what do young people value when choosing one or another company to work for?

According to this study, university students prefer to work in

multinational

companies and in positions that require travel but that allow them to maintain their residence in Spain.

In addition, they prefer jobs that offer

stability

more than those that promise great professional development but are more insecure.

Regarding salary, according to this study, young people see an average salary of

1,494 euros net per month as

"appropriate" as soon as they enter the labor market (which represents an increase of 28 euros compared to 2020).

More importance to conciliation

But, in addition to all this, they increasingly value issues such as

flexible hours, teleworking and conciliation

.

Thus, for 20%, the most important factor in choosing a company is the quality of life it offers, another 20% opt for remuneration and 16% for a good work environment.

The least valued factors are that the company serves as a springboard to take the leap to other jobs (2%) or that it has a good reputation (another 2%).

Based on all this, the 'top 10' of the best companies to work for in Spain for university students is as follows:

2. Google

3. Mercadona

Preferences vary according to the type of studies

But not all young people are interested in the same companies, tastes vary a lot depending on the branch of study from which they come.

Thus, students who have studied

social sciences

are more interested in companies that offer training and professional development, as well as good pay and benefits;

while those of

arts and humanities

are mostly inclined towards companies that promote values and have a good reputation.

However, university students who have studied careers related to

Health

opt for companies that offer a good work environment;

and

science and engineering

seek, above all, places where they can train and develop professionally.
