The head of the Ministry of Economy of Germany called gas a scarce commodity

"The security of Germany's supply is currently ensured, but gas is now a scarce commodity," TASS quoted the minister as saying.

He added that now, due to the gas crisis and reduced supplies via Nord Stream, it is necessary to reduce fuel consumption.

First Deputy President of the European Commission Frans Timmermans said earlier that 12 EU countries faced a reduction in gas supplies from Russia, ten of which issued early warnings as part of the security system.
