With a high nose bridge, deep eye sockets, and blue eyes, it would be hard to imagine that they are all Chinese if they were not fluent in Northeastern dialect.

This is Beihong Village, Mohe City, Daxinganling, Heilongjiang Province, which is located in the northernmost corner of the map of China. It is only separated from Russia by a river. Nearly half of the villagers in the village of about 300 people are of Russian descent, also known as the Russian ethnic village.

In recent years, relying on the northernmost landmark, Beihong Village has vigorously promoted the revitalization of the countryside by using characteristic tourism resources such as Russian ethnic customs, and has transformed from a primitive village located in the northernmost part of China into a "key village for rural tourism in China".

In June, the Daxing'an Mountains are full of lush trees and green water.

At noon, a sweet smell came from the Russian Bakery, located in the core of Beihong Village.

Zhao Yinhua, the 55-year-old shopkeeper this year, learned techniques from his Russian mother-in-law in 2007 and has been working with Russian bread for 15 years.

"When I started making bread, I was giving gifts to relatives and friends during the New Year, and I never asked for money. Since 2014, Beihong Village has started to engage in tourism, and the bakery has gradually developed."

Zhao Yinhua said that the hand-made Russian bread is fermented with leba flowers, without any additives, and the process is more complicated. In addition to the need to ferment one day in advance, additional flour must be added every one or two hours at night, which is time-consuming and time-consuming. Force, every finished loaf is full of sweat.

With the development of rural tourism in Beihong Village, this Russian bakery has become a local "check-in place", and many tourists come here, and tourists who have eaten bread have praised it.

By running a bakery, Zhao Yinhua can earn 40,000 to 50,000 yuan a year.

Out of the bakery is the Matryoshka Square, which is the most popular among tourists.

Dark green towering dome, log veneer walls, a small Russian-style building sells matryoshka, jade and other products. If you are thirsty, you can come to a cup of Russian-style beer.

Passing through the Matryoshka Square, less than 100 meters, is the mixed-race tourist shop, where several tourists are shopping for Russian-style snacks and souvenirs.

"Before the store was not called this name, the people who bought the goods were all villagers in the village, and they sold for 1,800 yuan a day. After the development of tourism in the village, there were more tourists, and the daily sales could reach 10,000 or 20,000 yuan."

The owner, Tang Yan, told reporters that because his grandparents and parents are Russians and his appearance is very "Russian", many netizens suggested that he change the name of the shop to "Mixed".

Walking through Beihong Village, the Russian style can be seen everywhere, and even the plaques of some homestays are marked in Russian.

"We are promoting more rural revitalization projects, such as organic fertilizer production lines, popsicle factories, cold drink factories, and breweries, to create better conditions for the next step in tourism development."

According to Shi Jiyou, the first secretary of Beihong Village in the village, in the past, Beihong Village had no electricity, no internet, dirt roads, and travel difficulties.

In recent years, Beihong Village has vigorously developed rural eco-tourism by relying on the most northern landmarks, Russian ethnic customs and other characteristic tourism resources.

By the end of 2021, there are more than 72 family hotels and homestays in the village, with an annual income of about 50,000 yuan, and the per capita annual income of the villagers is 20,800 yuan. It has embarked on a road of characteristic rural revitalization.
