Zhongxin Finance, June 17. China National Railway Group Co., Ltd. reported that on June 20, after four years of reconstruction and expansion, the century-old Beijing Fengtai Station will open for operation with a new look, adding a new landmark to the capital of Beijing.
The reconstructed Beijing Fengtai Station is the largest railway hub passenger station in Asia. The Beijing-Guangzhou high-speed railway, the Beijing-Shanghai, Beijing-Kowloon general-speed railway and other lines will be arranged for the departure and arrival of trains. In the initial stage of operation, 120 passenger trains will be arranged.
Founded in 1895, Fengtai Railway Station has served many lines such as the Old Beijing-Zhangjiakou Railway, the Beijing-Guangzhou Railway, and the Beijing-Shanghai Railway.
With the rapid development of capital city construction and railway, the related business undertaken by the station has been handed over to Beijing West Railway Station, Fengtai West Railway Station and other stations one after another. By 2010, all transportation business was suspended, and the reconstruction and expansion project was implemented in September 2018.
The reconstructed Beijing Fengtai Station has a construction area of about 400,000 square meters, and can accommodate up to 14,000 people per hour at the same time. There are 32 arrival and departure lines and 32 passenger platform platforms.
Beijing Fengtai Station is the first super-large station in China that adopts the overlapping design of high-speed rail and ordinary rail double-decker parking lot, forming a three-dimensional transportation mode of "top-level high-speed rail, ground ordinary rail, and underground subway", which is convenient for passengers to "seamlessly" transfer to urban transportation; It has built a user-friendly and convenient passenger service system and barrier-free facilities covering the entire station, which can provide services such as ticket sales, inquiry, public security certificate issuance, express delivery, key passenger reservations and emergency passenger temporary change. Lighting system and natural ventilation system can greatly save construction investment and energy saving and consumption reduction in future operations.
Before the station opened for operation, China National Railway Group carried out inspection and acceptance, safety assessment and comprehensive optimization and adjustment of various professional equipment at Beijing Fengtai Station, and carried out pre-job business, service etiquette training and emergency drills for station employees, ensuring the station’s opening and operation needs.
At present, the project fully meets the requirements of railway safety and stable operation, and has the conditions for opening and operation.
After the opening and operation of Beijing Fengtai Station, the functions of the Beijing Railway Hub Beijing West, Beijing and other stations have been optimized and adjusted accordingly, and the division of labor at each station has become more scientific and reasonable.
