Zhongxin Finance, June 16th. On the 16th, the Ministry of Commerce held a regular press conference. The spokesperson of the Ministry of Commerce, Shu Jueting, said at the press conference that in May 2022, the growth rate of imports and exports will rebound to 9.6%, and the field of foreign trade will increase. Showing a recovery growth momentum.

The Ministry of Commerce stated that my country's foreign trade has generally started smoothly this year, but due to multiple internal and external factors, the pressure to stabilize growth has increased.

Since May, foreign trade enterprises have resumed work and production in an orderly manner, the sluggish industrial chain and supply chain have gradually eased, and the effects of various policies to stabilize growth have gradually emerged.

The Ministry of Commerce also stated that at present and in the future, the development of foreign trade is still facing some uncertain and unstable factors.

From an international perspective, the recovery of the world economy is fragile, resulting in weak growth in external demand.

The World Bank's latest report lowered its forecast for global economic growth in 2022 to 2.9%, well below the 4.1% expected in January this year.

Domestically, foreign trade companies still face problems in terms of cost, supply chain and logistics.

However, the Ministry of Commerce believes that despite some difficulties, there are still many favorable conditions for achieving the goal of maintaining stability and improving foreign trade this year:

  1. All regions and departments resolutely implement the decisions and deployments of the central government, implement the requirements for efficient coordination of epidemic prevention and control and economic and social development, gradually restore normal production and living order, and gradually clear up logistics blockages. The advantages of China's foreign trade industry will be further brought into play.

  2. Intensive introduction of supporting policies. The State Council has issued a package of policy measures to stabilize the economy, issued opinions on promoting the stability and improvement of foreign trade, and made further arrangements for solving the difficulties of enterprises resuming work and reaching production, speeding up export tax rebates, and improving port efficiency. Relevant departments in various regions are actively implementing and introducing supporting measures, and the release of the superimposed effect of various support policies will effectively promote the growth of foreign trade.

  3. There are more and more partners in free trade agreements, and the tax reduction and trade facilitation role played by free trade agreements will also play an important role in promoting the development of foreign trade.

The Ministry of Commerce emphasized that it is confident to maintain the foreign trade operation in a reasonable range throughout the year, and contribute more to stabilizing the macroeconomic market.
