Sarah bint Yousef Al Amiri, Minister of State for Public Education and Advanced Technology, chaired the first meeting of the members of the "Industry Pioneers Network", in the presence of 17 CEOs of major national and international industrial companies, with the aim of accelerating the adoption of advanced technology in the UAE industrial sector.

25 projects

The Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology announced, during the event, the support of 25 experimental technology projects in the sector, under the umbrella of the "Industry Pioneers Network", through which a number of companies wishing to transform digitally to fourth generation technologies will be assisted, in addition to raising awareness and knowledge of industrial companies. The importance and availability of these technologies, and their role in enhancing the industrial competitiveness of UAE products in the local and international markets.

Al Amiri said, “In line with the leadership’s directives, to improve the performance of the industrial sector in the UAE and enable it with advanced technology solutions and the concepts of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, we are working within the network of industry pioneers through the integration of roles in cooperation with major companies in the country, to promote the adoption of this transformation, to support Flexible transition of solutions to small and medium-sized companies, which is reflected in increased investment in priority industries and industries of the future.

She added that the "Industry Pioneers Network" is one of the main pillars of the Fourth Industrial Revolution Program (Industry 4.0), as it plays an important role in supporting the growth of the industrial sector in the country. She affirmed that the industrial sector will benefit from establishing new partnerships that support efforts to adopt advanced technologies for emerging projects and small and medium-sized companies, and provide more industrial investment opportunities.

The Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology announced its cooperation with the "Edge Group" to expand the services of the "LiF" center for learning and innovation, to include all its services in the industrial environment.

Beginning in August, the Ministry and EDGE will provide a training program for executives to support skills development and adoption of the Industry 4.0 program solutions. The two entities will also provide an extensive and more comprehensive program for CEOs.

The ministry signed memoranda of understanding with Strata Manufacturing, Huawei, and BTC to join the "Industry Pioneers Network", so that these companies became the latest to join the pioneers network.

Under these agreements, the companies will cooperate with the ministry to spread awareness about the benefits of Industry 4.0, review use cases and solutions, and promote skills development and research and development.

The Emirates Development Bank also hosted a workshop in which 48 companies interested in investing in advanced technology in production lines participated.
