At the beginning of the pandemic, there was still a lot to be excused: the state of digitalization in the health authorities was already shameful back then, but the employees were able to cope with the few tuberculosis cases a year with the help of an Excel spreadsheet and a few phone calls.

Nobody could have expected such a flood of infected people as in the corona pandemic, and the understanding of the situation was correspondingly great.

More than two years later, however, one thing is certain: hardly anything has changed, the problems are still the same.

There is no single, effective solution that everyone can agree on.

There was neither a lack of political decisions nor the wherewithal: the state sunk millions into the existing systems of Sormas & Co.

Now the federal states want to send it into the Orkus and demand "urgently" for a new, quick solution.

But a few new codes are not enough: to end the digital madness, you need a uniform strategy that has to be implemented by everyone - without ifs and buts.
